Knowledge Center Highlights

MINTREX chelated trace minerals provide value throughout the entire production cycle. MINTREX is a highly bioavailable source of minerals - one of the best available in the market. The value of MINTREX goes beyond usual trace mineral supplementation to outperform other inorganic and organic sources.

Gut health is a key factor affecting performance in the nursery and beyond. Reducing the number of factors negatively affecting the gut like anti-nutritive factors and a build-up of undigested protein can improve performance greatly. CIBENZA DP100 works to break down the protein in feed to more usable amino acids allowing for increased digestion and a reduction in the negative effects associated with an unhealthy gut.

Oxidative stress is a broad term used to describe the damaging effects of free radicals in the body. For pigs, this damage can have a profound negative impact on performance. Many factors can increase oxidative stress, including disease pressure, environmental extremes, and dietary challenges. Working with the Novus sales and technical service team can help identify if SANTOQUIN® feed preservative is needed in feed. Some of the key questions to consider when evaluating if SANTOQUIN is needed are:

✓ I add supplemental liquid fat to my diets
✓ I feed DDGS
✓ My feeds do not contain a mycotoxin binder
✓ My pigs are challenged with bacterial disease in the nursery or grow-finish phase
✓ I add Vitamin E to my diets beyond what is considered the minimal level for growth
✓ It is summer and my site is located in a hot climate
✓ I use rendered animal protein products in my diets (fish meal, poultry meal, meat and bone meal, etc.)
✓ I would like to use more ingredients other than corn and soybean meal in my diets without losing gain or feed efficiency

Organic Acids®
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Often, the concept of feeding a combination product is overlooked because each of the ingredients can be purchased individually, often cheaper. The key to understanding why those products were chosen or the ratios in which they are included is the key to maximizing the benefits. Novus offers three organic acid products, ACITVATE® DA, ACTIVATE WD and ACIDOMATRIXTM GH which are formulated to optimize gut health and animal performance.

  • Accelerate Profit with Grow-Finish Pigs

Diets include supplemental zinc (Zn), copper (Cu) and manganese (Mn) - often as inorganic salts or inorganic crystalline forms. The disadvantage of these inorganic sources is the mineral is unprotected from numerous antagonisms and interactions in the digestive tract. Consequently, the mineral can bind to these antagonists, preventing absorption. This can result in mineral inadequacies for achieving optimum health, performance, or structural integrity or extra costs to over-feed minerals that aren’t utilized by the animal.

  • Improve Nursery Pig Performance

MINTREX Cu provides less reactive copper (Cu) in the diet reducing the risk of oxidation of fats, leaving more energy for the piglet. Additionally, delivering more Cu to absorption sites in the intestine allowing for more uptake, a lower excretion and environmental impact and provides improved nursery performance at lower Cu inclusion rates compared to ITMs.
