In addition to the monetary award, Novus International will endeavor to offer the recipient a paid intern position with Novus Research based on the needs of the company and research expertise of the student. The 2007 Novus International Research Award at Auburn University was presented to Mr. Elias J. Bungenstab. The award, will assist Mr. Bungenstab in his pursuit of a Ph.D. in Animal Sciences. Previous winners of the Novus International Research Award include Mr. Michael Leslie of Canada and Kejun Guo of Auburn, AL.

Originally from Brazil, Mr. Bungenstab grew up helping his father farm soybeans and corn. He holds a Masters degree in Feedlot Management from Texas A&M University and aspires for a career in animal agriculture with emphasis on nutrition and production efficiency of beef cattle.
"Receiving the Novus International Research Award is a great honor, I am delighted with being selected," Bungenstab said. "I hope to make a positive impact on the beef cattle industry. My continued studies coupled with this award will help me do just that."
