Late nursery represents a big challenge for the intestinal tract of pigs. If the pace of growth is affected at this age, pigs will not be able to reach market at the expected age, which will result in decreased profitability. Establishing a solid immune system and a fast growth pace requires lots of energy. Additionally, pigs need healthy intestinal tissue to absorb nutrients required for maintenance and growth. These nutrients will not be absorbed if an inflammation process is affecting the intestinal tract.
