World Egg Day 2016

In October 2016, Novus International, Inc., celebrated World Egg Day in many locations. Aligning with the company’s vision “to feed the world affordable wholesome food and achieve a higher quality of life”, Novus organized events and partnered with various professional entities to support the industry in spreading the awareness of the nutritional value of eggs.

In Thailand, Novus promoted the consumption of eggs by requesting the support from partnering hotels to display a video produced by Novus on the benefit of eggs on their screens for a week. Additionally, on 11th October 2016 Novus Thailand team visited a Children Foundation in the outskirts of Bangkok to donate eggs and teach young kids on the nutritional value of eating eggs through storytelling and activities.

In India, Novus also celebrated World Egg Day in various cities including Chennai, Namakkal, Raipur, Pune and Anaparthy. Dialogues on the benefits of eggs was initiated around the country and eggs were distributed in various forms to schools and to the public in general.

In Chennai, the Novus office team distributed over 1,000 boiled eggs in the food court at One India Bulls Park and communicated the health benefits of egg consumption. While in Namakkal, Novus joined hands with the Tamil Nadu Poultry Egg Producers Federation and Namakkal Veterinary College students to distribute 20,000 eggs at government hospitals, bus stops and shopping malls. In Raipur, Chattisgarh, Novus participated in a joggers meet organized in association with distributors, layer farmers across Raipur to promote the health benefits of eating eggs through seminars in school, blood donation camp and leaflet distribution. For Pune, Maharashtra, Novus partnered with the Department of Animal Husbandry to sponsor a discussion in Balgandharv where experts highlighted the nutritional value of eggs, inclusion of Eggs in “Mid-Day Meal” Schemes in schools and the contribution of the layer industry to the rural economy in poverty-alleviation and fighting malnourishment. 1.5 million eggs were distributed in Maharashtra this year with collaboration from various organizations. In Anarparthy, Andhra Pradesh, Novus collaborated with the Anaparthi Poultry Farmer’s Welfare Society in a 2km marathon run organized to promote the consumption of eggs. Eggs were distributed to viewers along the way and the event ended at Balabhadrapuram function hall where egg menus were prepared and distributed and Novus also circulated brochures on the benefit of eating eggs.

Novus believes that good health starts with good nutrition and thus took pronounced initiatives to raise the awareness on the consumption of eggs which is a great source of proteins as well as vitamins and minerals.
