Sales Manager, Western Canada

Novus is seeking a qualified candidate for the a Sales Manager who manages the Western Canadian business. This role promotes the Novus animal livestock nutrition products and solutions of Novus International (Canada) Inc. within Canadian key accounts. This role is responsible to, manage sales accounts, optimize and manage the customer base in Western Canada, grow sales volume, and optimize profit margins for the business unit as established by the national sales manager. Additionally, the provide and leverage C.O.W.S service within Canada to promote use of specialty products within selected key accounts.


  • Manage Novus business to maximize revenue and profit, short term and long term, in the assigned territory.
  • Build greater partnerships with all customers in the territory through regular sales calls and participation in industry meetings to ensure alignment on business strategy.
  • Maintain close relationship with Novus Marketing, Technical Services and Customer Service to secure alignment on business strategy.
  • Compliance with the Novus Management System, Novus Integrity System and all policies and procedures related to position assignment. Professionally represent Novus International at all times by adhering to the highest ethical standards.


  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent in animal sciences, marketing, business or related area 3-5 years feed additive sales experience in the agricultural industry of the assigned geography.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Canadian dairy market.
  • Strong understanding of cow welfare and ability to work directly with producers to advise on issues.
  • Ability to move business forward.
  • Initiative to make sure Novus resources are properly used to achieve maximum potential.
  • Team player to work with technical support resources, marketing, and other team members.
  • Analytical skills to quantify practical business plans and solutions to customer needs.
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers and drive business results.
  • Bilingual in English and French would be an asset.
  • Travel will be based primarily in the Western Canada region. Depending on location, up to 50% of time.
