IPPE 2014, Here We Come!

The 2014 International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE) is just around the corner and we are very excited for our participation in this year’s event! We at Novus are eager to share scientific findings and important information on understanding the connections and issues facing the industry.

Our "Understanding the Connections" program at IPPE will expand upon the main challenges that producers are currently facing around the world—such as food safety, meat quality, tissue and bone integrity, as well as egg shell strength—and the impact these issues have on the end consumer. By thinking of the end product with the beginning nutrition in mind, our industry can improve quality and return on investment throughout the supply chain.

Novus has had a long history of involvement with IPPE, understanding its importance to our organization as well as the industry as a whole.  “In the beginning of Novus, we were essentially a poultry focused company, and that show, even from its beginnings, is one of the largest if not the single largest tradeshow in the poultry industry,” noted Mike Windham, Commercial Egg Business Manager at Novus. “It covers everything from breeders and basic genetics through processing. For the whole week the majority of the people in the poultry industry are in one place, making it a great place to reinforce things we are doing, present our findings and to hear what other people are doing too.”

So what does IPPE 2014 have in store? Beyond our booth (, Hall A) being a center of information, Novus scientists will be presenting at the International Poultry Scientific Forum (IPSF) where on Monday, January 27th, Novus is hosting a free lunch and learn by Dr. Shelly McKee of Auburn University on “How Consumer Preference Drives Poultry Processing”.  We’re also hosting an ALIMET® 88 Party at the Novus booth on Tuesday, January 28 from 4:00- 5:00pm and a cocktail party at the Omni Hotel, Dogwood Room A-M1, North Tower on Wednesday, January 29 from 5:00-6:30pm.
