Earlier this month, I headed to San Francisco, California, to attend Dreamforce 2014, a massive software conference hosted annually by Salesforce.com. The event spanned four high-energy days filled with innovation, excitement and community service. This year, 145,000 attendees made their way to this digital mecca to participate in more than 1,400 break-out sessions, in hopes of learning new ways to enhance the impact of their digital footprint.
Prior to attending Dreamforce, I knew Salesforce.com was an incredible customer relationship tool, but Dreamforce took what I thought I knew to an entirely new level. The conference gave me the opportunity to learn from leaders in the industry, connect with fellow marketing professionals, and network with individuals that use Salesforce tools on a daily basis. Our Novus team set out with the intention of reaching our customers more efficiently, but we came back with that and so much more.
The bulk of my sessions were related to Pardot, Radian 6, Social Studio, Salesforce1 and many other tools under the Salesforce umbrella. After each session, I attended “Cloud Expo,” a post-session event that allowed me to ask questions to Salesforce specialists, as well as learn about new and emerging trends in the industry. Cloud Expo also showcased how other companies are successfully using Salesforce tools in a B2B space. This experience provided valuable information on how our team can better utilize Salesforce tools at Novus.
In addition to informational sessions, Dreamforce attendees were encouraged to give back to those in need. I participated in the Dreamforce Food Drive, built a “night-night” kit for a homeless child, as well as participated in events that supported veterans. It was an honor to be amongst thousands of people contributing to such great causes.
