São Paulo, Brazil (July 17, 2025) – It’s no secret that disease and bacterial challenges greatly cost the swine industry annually. Fortunately, research shows that what pigs eat can positively impact their immune system.

NOVUS Senior Technical Services Manager Alex Hintz, DVM, will share his insights on this topic in a lecture titled “Nutritional Influence on Swine Immune Response and Development” during the 17th Brazil South Swine Symposium (SBSS), taking place in Chapecó.

“This is a very special presentation for veterinarians, nutritionists, and technical consultants who want to deepen their knowledge of the latest advancements in precision nutrition for swine,” says Débora Reolon, Ph.D., senior manager of technical services at NOVUS.

Hintz’s informative presentation will share data and knowledge from swine and human scientific literature that can aid in developing strategies and tips that help to optimize immune response and development via nutrition.

“What we eat, and what pigs eat, makes a difference in our overall health,” Hintz says. “The information I’m sharing provides a framework for harnessing that information into an overall strategic health plan for pigs at all stages of life.”

“Immunity is one of the pillars of productivity in swine production. Understanding how nutrition supports immune system development is essential to ensuring gut health and herd efficiency,” adds Reolon.

NOVUS’s technical team will also be on-site at SBSS to engage with industry professionals and discuss intelligent nutrition solutions tailored to every phase of swine production.
