Guadalajara, Jalisco (September 10, 2025) — As part of the XXI Asociación Mexicana de Especialistas en Nutrición Animal (AMENA) Biennial Congress, NOVUS invites poultry and swine professionals to attend seminars designed to share innovative solutions in animal nutrition.

“These luncheon events are for professionals who want to optimize their nutrition programs and achieve their production goals,” says NOVUS Commercial Director for Latin America Alessandro Lima. “We’ll be joined by swine and poultry experts who truly understand the on-farm challenges and can offer actionable advice.”

The events are conveniently located at Hotel Barceló where AMENA is held. Lunch will be served at both events.

Strategic Opportunities to Optimize Nutrient Digestibility

  • Independent consultant Dr. Víctor Valdés will speak on the quality of raw materials and associated use of enzyme
  • Dr. Jorge Prada of NOVUS will share how anti-nutritional factors impact nutrient availability and bird gut health

Sustainability through Nutrition
13:15-14:45 on Thursday, October 9 at Oceanía I & II.

  • Dr. Jesús Acosta of NOVUS shares the newest trace mineral research

The luncheons are open to all AMENA attendees, but registration is required. Sign up for one or both of these free educational opportunities:  Poultry Swine

In addition to the lunch seminars, NOVUS will also share findings from two recent scientific studies.

Dr. Jorge Prada will share a study that evaluated different sources of copper in post-weaning piglets.

“With ongoing fluctuations in copper prices, it’s important that nutritionists and producers are choosing a copper source that is efficient and reliable,” Prada says.

NOVUS Technical Services Manager for Colombia Dr. Gonzalo Rueda will share research on protease supplementation in broilers under heat stress fed a diet with high levels of trypsin inhibitors (TI) in the soybean meal.

“Soybean meal is a great protein source but anti-nutritional factors like TI can limit how much protein is accessible to the birds,” he says. “Adding a common challenge like heat stress to the situation can further reduce the feed’s nutritional benefits. The research shows the importance of understanding the level of TI in soybean meal and what can be done to limit the negative impact.”

The dates and times of the presentations will be shared on the AMENA Congress website closer to the event. For more information about the Congress or to register, visit https://www.amena.mx/en/congreso2025
