NOVUS Supports Swine & Poultry Nutritionists at Mexico’s AMENA Biennial Congress

Querétaro, Mexico (October 17, 2023) – Intelligent nutrition company Novus International is supporting nutritionists’ goals during a special presentation at the AMENA Biennial Congress in Mexico this month.

As part of the event’s program, Mercedes Vázquez-Añón, Ph.D., senior director of strategic initiatives and account collaboration at NOVUS, will present on the topic “Challenges related to structural integrity in Poultry and Swine production” starting at 1:15 p.m. on October 26 in Salón Tulipán at the Sheraton Buganvilias Hotel, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

The talk will include information about nutritional interventions that can help impact carcass quality, footpad dermatitis and eggshell quality in poultry; and gilt development, lameness and reproduction in swine.

“The poultry and swine industries in Mexico are facing many challenges due to high demand for quality meat and eggs,” Dr. Vázquez-Añón says. “Optimizing animal health is key to meeting these demands. It’s important that nutritionists understand their options so they can help producers improve the profitability of their farms.”

With over 30 years of research experience, Dr. Vázquez-Añón’s expertise encompasses nutrition, physiology, and metabolism of sulfur amino acids, trace minerals, antioxidants, and dietary enzymes. She holds nine patents and has published more than 30 peer-reviewed scientific articles and over 100 abstracts, technical reports, articles in conference proceedings, and industry media.
