Nominations Open for Latin American Poultry Teaching Award
SÃO PAULO, Brazil (September 3, 2026) – The Poultry Science Association (PSA) is currently accepting nominations for the NOVUS International Teaching Award, which will be presented during the 2026 Latin American Scientific Conference in Brazil in October.
Nominees must be PSA members who are actively teaching at a university in Latin America.
Sponsored by the leader in intelligent nutrition, the NOVUS International Teaching Award recognizes that excellence in teaching is necessary for the future of the poultry industry. Along with the honor, the award winner receives $2,000.
“This award celebrates educators who are making a difference in advancing poultry agriculture in the classroom and throughout the entire industry in Latin America,” says NOVUS Executive Technical Services Manager Gabriela Cardoso, Ph.D. “Along with providing students with the knowledge and experience they need, the recipient is someone who inspires passion in their students so they can become the next leaders in the poultry industry.”
This is only the second year the award has been offered. The 2024 recipient was Dr. Belchiolina Beatriz Fonseca, a professor at the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. The conference, which is sponsored by PSA, occurs every other year in Latin America.
