NOVUS Expands Dairy Support in Europe

Antoine Mayolle

REUS, SPAIN (September 11, 2024) – Antoine Mayolle has joined NOVUS as the sales dairy manager for Southwest Europe. His experience in animal health and precision feeding is aiding dairy farmers and nutritionists in France and Spain to get more from their dairy herds.

He says growing up with animals prepared him for a career in the dairy sector.

“I milked my first cow when I was 14. I really like to see a healthy, old productive cow and now I’m helping aid in their health, well-being, and performance,” he says. “The right combination of nutrition and management can make a significant difference in a cow meeting its full potential.”

An understanding of cow genetics allows Mayolle to go beyond typical feed and management planning. He says with modern cows small changes on the farm can make a big difference in milk yield and fat/component production, all of which are priorities for dairies.

“Nearly all Holstein cows in Europe are bred using genetic lines from the United States, but even on well-managed farms, I see differences between cows raised in the U.S. and here,” he says. “This may be due to the quality of raw feed materials and partially due to tiny differences in micronutrients. Recognizing these differences, I can provide nutritionists with science-based, data-driven options that help the farm reach its goals.”

NOVUS Regional Sales Manager for Dairy in EMEA Freek van Essen, DVM, says customers in France and Spain will get more than a sales pitch from the new representative.

“We’re excited to have Antoine on the NOVUS dairy team in Europe,” van Essen says. “His expertise in feed additives enables him to provide insightful advice on a full range of on-farm situations and challenges. He is not only an expert in ruminant nutrition but is also customer-focused and determined to find solutions to bring the dairy sector to the next level.”

Before joining NOVUS, Mayolle held roles at agriculture software provider ISAGRI, beef and dairy genetics company STgenetics, and Vétalis, a supplement and bolus technology company. He holds a degree in agricultural engineering from the Institut Polytechnique UniLaSalle Beauvais (France).
